I'm planning a parts list for a gaming pc I'm going to build but it's my first time, should I change anything

This is my first build, so l do not know much about this sort of thing, and any advice would be helpful. l do not wanna buy all these parts just to find that l gimped my system. Probably running XP
I'd nix the sound card unless you will be doing professional
audio editing and put that money toward a current generation graphics card
from NVIDIA. Maybe bump up the CPU to a Q9300 if you can afford it.
what operating system will you be running?
If you can get a 4GB ram kit instead it is not that expensive anymore.
I wouldn't bother with the gaming sound card most of the soundcard on the
motherboard is suffiecient enough. The only time when you need a better
sound card is when you use to sound editing. So it is not a big deal to
have a gaming sound card. Just my opinion put ur money on the Ram which
makes a better use or if not a slightly better video card. BFG 9800 GTX OC otherwise ur spec is pretty decent.
ATI Radeon Graphic cards are better for gamers as they have a
better performance ratio.
Raise the RAM to 4GB if possible.
change the 9800GTX to a GTX 260 Core 216.you will be glad you
did
